The Campus

UHM District Male Hospital is situated in the heart of the historic and industrial city of kanpur. The city of Kanpur is embraced by holy river ‘Ganga’. In the British period our city was known as Cawnpore. Presently the Kanpur city is famous for its industrial organization (specially Leather and textile industry) and educational institutes.

This hospital has a sprawling campus with hospital and academic sections accommodated in huge buildings. The main college building looks like a grand palace. The hospital has divided in two blocks which includes Emergency and Main IPD building along with its sister units e.g., Multispecialty OPD Block, Ayush Block, Dental Block and DNB Administrative block.

IPD and Administrative Block (Main Building)

(A) GROUND FLOOR

  • Director Room, administrative office, CMO Camp office, CMS/MS Room, Hospital Manager Room, Matron office, account office, HR Department, Engineers office (Technologist)
  • Ward 1, 2, 3, 4 – It has 4 wards, 2 in each wing. Ward 1 is a medicine ward which include 10 beds of Chest and respiratory specialty. Ward 2 is a ortho surgery ward. Ward 3 is dedicated for PM Ayushmaan Baharat Yojna beneficiary. Ward 4 is dedicated for ortho surgery patients.

(B) SECOND FLOOR

  • Ward 5,6,7,8 – These wards are located on First floor. In which Wards 5 & 6 for Eye & ENT and Wards 7 & 8 for General Surgery. General OT, Eye and ENT OT are also located on the first floor.

Private Annexure Block (Private Rooms, Pediatric Ward & PICU)

This is a 5 storey block and it is located behind the main IPD building. In this block there are 24 private, Deluxe and Semi Deluxe rooms on Ground, First and second floor. On third floor it has 6 bedded PICU and 10 general beds. On fourth floor it has 16 bedded ward.

Auditorium & DNB Block

(A) GROUND FLOOR

  • Faculty rooms– It has 8 Cabin offices for Faculty and two lecture theatre for DNB residents. It also has a DNB Nodal office at the entrance.

(B) SECOND FLOOR

  • Auditorium – It has a capacity of 100 seats along with a projector facility.
  • Library and Video conferencing room– The library is big enough to accommodate about 30 students. They have been made fully air conditioned, sound proof, equipped with Books and other facility for DNB residents

  2. Eye Testing Lab

Emergency Block (ERS, Emg. Ward 1 & Emg. Ward 2, MRI, Ortho OT, ICCU, CCU, Dialysis, HDU, ARV inoculation room, Burn Unit and Geriatric ward)

(A) GROUND FLOOR

  1. Emergency receiving station with EMO (doctor) and residents team round the clock without any fail.
  2. MRI near entrance works from 8 AM to 4 PM.
  3. Emergency ward 1 (male) and Emergency ward 2 (female)
  4. Ortho OT
  5. Physiotherapy
  6. Mortuary

(B) FIRST FLOOR

  1. ICCU, HDU and Dialysis
  2. CCU (Cardiac Care Unit)

  1. Burn and Plastic Surgery unit

Gardens

Our institution has a lush green eco- friendly campus with big trees and well spread gardens all over. Besides plenty of seasonal flowers our garden has a Herbal (Medicinal) garden. This garden has more than 100 species of plants.
